How to Get Lined Up for Your Wedding Processional

September 30, 2015 Admin

Are you planning your wedding by yourself?

There are certainly a lot of things to think about.  Getting everyone lined up for your wedding can be very easy!

Our first article “These 5 key elements will guarantee a perfect wedding soundtrack” talked about the different sections of your wedding ceremony and some ideas on how to get started choosing your music.  The next question is, “How will our musicians know when to change the music at the appropriate time?”

Some of the elements that have really helped many of the weddings we have done have extremely successful transitions are:

1.  Have your officiant line up with all of your entire wedding party (families, bridesmaids and groomsmen, kids, and of course the bride).

2.  When everyone is ready to proceed down the aisle, have your officiant proceed to the front of your venue and make a short announcement asking people to "turn their cell phones off".  This will get your guests attention that something is about to happen, and will make your photographer’s life much easier.

Seating of the families:  After the announcement is made, your musicians will begin the first song of your ceremony music for your families to enter.

Wedding Party:  When the last family member is seated, we will fade out of their song and switch over to the music for your wedding party to enter.  Your first bridesmaid has the important job of waiting for a brief silence, followed by the special music you have selected for them to enter.  We recommend for them to not be in a hurry to start walking.

Bridal Procession:  Your big moment is finally here!  When the last person in your wedding party has made it to the front (usually your flower girl or ring bearer), we will fade out of the wedding party music and begin your special song`.   Relax, enjoy your song for about 15 or 20 seconds, then proceed down the aisle.
